UPDATE (Thursday, April 20) : Congratulations, everyone! We've got a supersized season finale. Scroll down to the entry for Thursday, May 11 and look for Casino Night.
Executive Producer Greg Daniels has gone on record as saying that he would like to air a special, extended edition of The Office for the upcoming Season Two Finale scheduled to air this May.
We, the Office faithful, are right behind Mr. Daniels on this one. Jeff Zucker, CEO of NBC Universal Television Group, and the rest of the powers that be, please grant Mr. Daniels' request for the 2925 reasons listed below.
Office fans who have not yet responded, now's your chance.

The finale should be longer, because ALL of the shows should be longer.
Are you kidding??? Why not make the fans the happiest they can be???
The Office is an amazing show and has finally gained a sizeable audience that will only grow by May. After showing several repeat episodes, new fans will be aquainted with the characters, for the most part, but there is no better way to full integrate new fans into the show's plotlines and characters than to offer everyone an extended finale. The Office is my favorite show on television and one of NBC's premier shows. NBC, offer one of your best shows the chance to grow in a way that it has never been able to do! Give it this extended episode for all devotees and new fans to enjoy!
You could air an 8 hour season finale and I would still watch, tivo and put it on my video i pod. Bring it on!
The Office is the best thing on TV. The season finale will be great no matter what, but half an hour's just not enough. It needs to be longer. And that's NOT what she said.
why not? i gave up on nbc a while back, then you decided to give me back to back all new episodes of scrubs (the only other show deserving of such an honor) but you dont want to give me a back to back season finale of the office? what are you thinking? we are ever so kindly asking for one simple thing. just one. thursday must see tv is finally back. PLEASE consider our requests!
The Office is the best show on television. Why wouldn't we want more of a good thing?
Because a half hour show really means twenty minutes and therefore, a full hour show would mean like... forty-five minutes, which is a bit closer to the amount of time I would like to spend watching the Office every week.
Also, they have almost enough deleted scenes per an episode to make it to an hour, so why waste all that gloriously funny footage?!
It's THE BEST comedy on TV right now, and it deserves it.
If you supersize The Office's finale, I will send you money. Not much, but money. It's bribery! Do it!
Even if it doesn't air, you could promote the Season 2 DVD set having the Uncut hourlong season finale...
This would be amazing! PLEASE DO IT!!!
No "Office" for 2 weeks because of the Olympics?!?!! A supersized finale would make up for that... a little. :)
YES! The 22 minutes are too short.
The Office is the only good show on television.
By the way there are other people in the WORLD who watch the Office. Fuck Americans are so goddamn close minded.

I think that we have enough evidence (see: deleted scenes in Season 1 DVD) that The Office produces more comedic material than it can use in the given 20 minutes. With an extended script, and the inevitable major plot points that are sure to take place during the finale, I believe that it is essential that the show get extended to a 40 minute episode, as a normal episode will simply not be able to contain what needs to be shown.
Because the writing on this show is too good to stay inside someone's head forever. And it'll make up for the fact that the first season was so short!
Because sometimes you just have to be the boss of supersizing.
Plus, the office really should be an hour show anyway.
I'm not really from Alabama, but there were no Canadian options. Anyhow, it should be supersized because it is the highlight of many people's week, and that is sad (for us). Please take pity and make the week of the finale our BEST WEEK EVER! The Office is genius and genius should not be contained.
